About the program
When used in conjunction with education and continuous support, diabetes technology such as continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) can significantly enhance the lives and health of those with diabetes. However, the dynamic and complex nature of the diabetes technology landscape can also create obstacles when it comes to implementing and integrating these advancements for patients and healthcare providers alike.
In order to improve the usage of CGMs for diabetes management, enabling primary care physicians (PCPs) to make improvements in patient outcomes, this educational program will be updated quarterly and supplemented by four video podcasts to help you stay abreast of this quick-changing landscape.
Learning objectives
Following completion of this independent educational program, you will be able to:
- Evaluate available CGM technologies, patients who are appropriate candidates for such CGM devices, and updates on insurance coverage
- Analyze patient CGM data and how such readouts can inform clinical decision-making
- Adapt patient education and shared decision-making tools when evaluating barriers to CGM usage and adherence
Target audience
Primary care practitioners and other healthcare professionals who are responsible for managing patients with Type 2 Diabetes or at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes.
